Chief Executive Officer

Cortney Behrends is the CEO of Muy'Ono Hospitality. In this role she sets the standards for the guest experience, oversees all business operations of the company including sales, reservations, and vacation planning. Cortney leads the entire Muy'Ono team and is responsible for creating amazing vacation experiences from start to finish. She works with each portfolio property to develop its story and finds creative ways to articulate it to potential guests. 

Cortney acquired a knack for customer service in high school as a bank teller in her home town of Fredericksburg, Texas. After graduating from Texas State University, she returned to the bank in a management position. She did a brief stint in medical device sales before joining the Muy'Ono team and taking control of the day-to-day operations. 

Cortney resides in Austin, Texas where she enjoys running along the river trail near her condo and listening to live music. She prefers temperatures above 70 degrees and enjoys adventures in the sun. She takes full advantage of her many “business trips” to Belize. 



Chief Operating Officer & President

Tracy Ford is the COO and President of Muy'Ono Hospitality. He runs resort operations for all portfolio properties. In his role he sets the standards for service, creates operating plans, and works with the management and staff of each property to ensure amazing guest experiences. 

Born into a hotel family, Tracy has over 30 years of experience in the hospitality and food service industry. Prior to moving to Belize, Tracy spent most of his career in Hawaii at world famous destinations including: the Grand Wailea, Ihilani Resort and Spa, Hotel Hana Maui, Kapalua Bay Resort and the Kauai Beach Resort. His career has also taken him on extended assignments to Bora Bora and Cabo San Lucas.

As Muy'Ono's President, Tracy ensures that the entire Muy'Ono portfolio is running smoothly. He is a hands-on manager who prides himself in creating a healthy work environment and providing guests with first class experiences in the world's most exclusive destinations. His passion for hospitality can not be matched. 


Chief Marketing Officer

Kinsey is Muy'Ono Hospitality’s CMO. She handles all of the marketing campaigns for the growing portfolio of properties. She constantly researches emerging trends and platforms and develops sound marketing strategies while implementing, analyzing and adapting as she goes. Kinsey is an expert in exploiting cost-effective online advertising channels. 

Before joining the Muy'Ono team, Kinsey worked as a digital marketing specialist. Her first job in customer service came as a gift-wrapper for a luxury jewelry company where she worked for five years, rising to marketing assistant the year she graduated from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University.

After graduation, she promptly moved to her favorite city, Austin, TX, where she worked in graphic design and digital marketing for a mid-sized furniture company. She and her husband now call Austin, TX, home. When not working, and sometimes when working, Kinsey likes to spend time with her dog and see all of the live music she can.



Chief Revenue Officer

Ian Present is the Chief Revenue Officer. He creates and implements the revenue strategies for Muy'Ono’s portfolio. His comprehensive knowledge of industry platforms as well as innovative tactics ensure Muy'Ono’s growth across market segments and overall market share.

His unique passion for Revenue Management and attention to detail in business are directly linked to his entrepreneurial spirit. He started in the hospitality business in 2006 as a Bellman then progressed to Operations and then to Revenue Management, working in New York City and internationally. He has worked with major brands, including Hilton, Marriott, and Starwood, as well as independent properties in his career. Simultaneously flourishing as a business owner, he is a co-owner of the internationally acclaimed cocktail bar Dutch Kills and the pioneering high-end ice company Hundredweight.

A native New Yorker who understands the competitive nature of markets, Ian has gained a global perspective while visiting 24 other countries, from the major cities of Europe and Asia to remote islands in the Caribbean. He now calls Austin home and when not driving his 75 Bricklin enjoys the creative spirit that permeates the city’s culture.


VP of Guest Relations

Lynh is the V.P. Guest Relations at Muy'Ono Hospitality. She lives in Belize and works with portfolio properties to establish guest service levels.

She has 20 years of experience in the service industry working in luxury destinations and jobs ranging from real estate sales, vacation property management and supervising guest experiences at resorts across the globe including Hawaii, Bora Bora and Cabo San Lucas.

As the Guest Relations Manager, Lynh manages the team that delivers the guest experience. She helps guests every step of the way from the moment they land at the international airport through the end of the vacation of a lifetime. 

Lynh loves working with guests to understand their needs and create a completely personalized experience. She values the opportunity to exceed expectations for guests at every property in the Muy'Ono portfolio. 


Accounting Manager

Chad is the financial controller for all of Muy'Ono Hospitality. He oversees all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures. He prepares, finalizes and conducts month and year end accounting reviews with CEO and Board of Directors. 

A graduate from The University of Texas at San Antonio, Chad has worked as an accountant in a variety of industries prior to joining Muy’Ono. He has worked in small startup companies in the tech industry until his most recent role with an international learning and development company. He draws on his experience gained from these high growth companies to help support the fast growing Muy’Ono team. His love of travel and the opportunity to get back to his startup roots drew him to this exciting role.
Chad embraces everything his hometown of Austin has to offer, from the many outdoor activities to the endless live music. He also enjoys playing golf when he gets the opportunity, just don’t ask him what his typical score is.



Visual Identity & Merchandising Manager

Clint Grounds is the Merchandise Manager for Muy'Ono. In this role, he ensures that the visual identity is in tact for each brand in the Muy'Ono portfolio, designs and distributes merchandise and constructs each gift shop. Clint brings years of experience to this role.

He is a graduate of Indiana University. After graduation, he set sail to the west coast, interning for a marketing department. He then moved to Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany where he hit the slopes and traveled around Europe, Western Asia and Northern Africa for 13 months. Throughout the past 5 years, he has been between Austin, New York and Bali honing in on making his hobbies and interests a lucrative career path.

While in New York and Austin, he worked for a line of Ralph Lauren called RRL, which ultimately lead him to landing a job with Lilla Lane in Bali, Indonesia. He ran operations for three boutiques in Bali and one in Singapore and helped rebuild and re-brand the company. Before leaving Bali, he designed and produced a collection of high-end teak furniture, which he has imported back to Texas. Clint now resides in Austin, Texas.



Marketing Strategy & Analytics Manager

Anthony is a member of the Muy'Ono Marketing Team. His focus is to assist with strategies to promote the increasing number of Muy'Ono properties and brands. Reconciling creative thinking with analyzation is how he has found success in marketing and digital advertising. Anthony specializes is exact targeting for multiple digital advertising campaigns, but he does so much more.
A graduate from Baylor University from Austin, TX, Anthony has worked previously in digital marketing and advertising. While he has experience at traditional ad agencies, he also has brand building experience in the outdoor adventure industry.
Anthony enjoys spending his time outside with his dog, Boone and trail running around Texas. He regularly trains for and runs ultra-marathons, which is any race over 26.2 miles.


Marketing & Travel Specialist

Olivia is the Marketing and Travel Specialist for Muy'Ono Hospitality. She is your go-to gal when it comes to planning your adventures in Belize. Whether it is for a scuba trip, fly fishing excursions, or just hanging out on a hammock; she is able to make your experiences unbelizeable!
A graduate from Western State Colorado University with a degree in Anthropology and Sociology, she first started coming to Belize doing archaeology research. She has spent three summer sessions exploring Maya ruins and culture.
She has traveled extensively throughout Guatemala and Belize. Though her career path has changed, her love for Belize shines through in her Muy'Ono work in all aspects. When she is not traveling back and forth from Belize to her hometown of Austin, TX, she enjoys hiking through the greenbelt, seeing live music, and skiing in the mountains during the winters.



Sales Representative

Jaclyn is the sales representative for all of Muy'Ono Hospitality. In this role, she aids to the growth of the business by increasing awareness of the Muy'Ono portfolio, broadening the client base, and establishing and maintaining active working partnerships with the top agents, clubs, and wholesalers. An avid diver, trekker, and explorer, she is an adventure expert and uses her experiences to promote resort and tour sales across the Muy'Ono portfolio.

Jaclyn has extensive sales, hospitality, and outdoor experience. Before joining the Muy'Ono team, her diverse resume includes working at ski resorts in Lake Tahoe and trail crews on the Appalachian Trail. She graduated from Western State Colorado University with a degree in Archaeology and Sociology and her love for Belize began when she spent multiple field seasons conducting archaeological research at Maya hinterland sites in Belize. Always on the go, she has backpacked extensively in destinations around the world, which has sparked her interest in the totality of human experience, from its beginnings to its present.

In her home town of Austin, TX Jaclyn enjoys engaging in the local music and art scene. She also participates in as many outdoor activities as she can get her hands on, including diving, snowboarding, and backpacking with her dog, Bell.


Travel Planning Specialist

Susanne is the Travel Planning Specialists for Muy'Ono Hospitality. As your personal travel concierge, she enjoys working with guests each step of the way to create an unforgettable and highly personalized experience. She specializes in creating custom yoga retreats across the Muy'Ono portfolio.

Her previous experience as a wedding coordinator in Laguna Beach, California, brings a varied knowledge of the hospitality industry to our guests. She has professional experience in both residential and commercial design. Susanne is active in various philanthropies in her adopted home town of Austin, Texas, an avid yogi, live music enthusiast and art lover.

Susanne loves to travel abroad and become immersed in other cultures, while also attempting to learn the local language. She attended San Diego State University and has lived in Austin, Texas for the past ten years.




Travel Planning Specialist

Michelle is the Travel Planning Specialist for Muy'Ono Hospitality. She is your personal travel concierge that will help create and execute the Belize experience you will never forget.

Her previous experience in customer service with one of the largest Medical Sales company, brings a personal touch to our travelers and the comfort that they will be taken care of accordingly.

Michelle’s joy of traveling led her to Belize and has kept her coming back.

She has traveled to Belize numerous times and has fallen in love with the country. Her experience and the intimate knowledge she has with the country is a huge asset to our company.

Michelle attended Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas. She currently lives on the outskirts of Austin, Texas with her husband. Her favorite thing when not traveling is hitting the running trails with her lab, Bella. She enjoys traveling every free minute she can get and is thrilled to be a part of the Muy'Ono team.

Corporate Chef

Mark is the Corportate Chef for Muy'Ono Hospitality. He has been in the culinary field for over 30 years, with over 20 years of experience as Executive Chef. Mark comes to us from Hawaii where he has specialized in Pacific Rim, World Fusion, Continental Cuisine, Baking and Pastry.  
Earning a degree in Culinary Arts from the California Culinary Academy, Mark graduated in the top 5 of his class. He has held rank as one of the top culinary instructors at the University of Hawai‘i Kaua‘i Community College, Culinary Arts division.  
Mark has made multiple guest appearances on cooking shows throughout Hawaii, including Kaua‘i FM 97’s Culinary Radio Show. Mark has a passion for the culinary field and has been an Executive Chef for both 4 and 5 star hotels, overseeing restaurants, banquet, event and staff.  



Executive Chef

Manuel comes to us from The Hacienda Beach Club San Lucas where he delighted guests for eight years. He also starred as a celebrity guest chef at Club Ninety-Six at Villas del Mar. Manuel started his career in the kitchens of the Fiesta Americana eighteen years ago. He is a graduate of the Academia de Arte Culinaria International.

Chef Manuel enjoys cooking the cuisines of the world fusing ideas and ingredients from multiple cultures to create unique dishes using local ingredients. The waters surrounding Belize are the primary source of the fresh seafood for his dishes. Manuel also makes regular visits to the many organic farms on the mainland.


Maintenance Manager

Originally from Guatemala, Clifford has led Belizean staff for over 10 years. Clifford has overseen the construction of the residences and day-to-day maintenance of multiple properties.

He currently oversees the maintenance of all of the resorts in the Muy'Ono Management portfolio. He’s a mason, an electrician, boat captain and is responsible for the training of new staff.

Clifford enjoys new construction projects and is proud of the custom designs and privacy of each villa he creates. His favorite view is of the sunrise through the floor-to-ceiling windows in Noshi Na (aka The Big House) on Royal Belize. 

When not on the islands, Clifford lives on the mainland in the town of Silk Grass with his family. 



Financial Controller - Belize Operations

Wendy is Muy'Ono Hospitality primary finance, accounting, and tax controller in Belize. She ensures that each portfolio property and business has systems and procedures in place for proper accounting and strong internal controls. She oversees all banking and tax matters across the portfolio. She prepares and finalizes financials for month and year end accounting reviews. 

Wendy has been happily married for thirty years and has two grown children (one in Canada and one traveling the world on cruise ships).  She moved down to Belize a few years ago with her husband to escape the cold and hustle and bustle of Canada.  They have found a much simpler life living in the small village of Placencia.  Since arriving they have been able to explore their new passion for diving and have dove most of the wonderful sites on the Belize barrier reef.  When they are not diving they are probably still on the water in their panga fishing or snorkeling.

Wendy is a designated accountant from Canada and has 25+ years as an accountant.  She obtained her Certified General Accountant designation in 2001 and has since worked in her own public practice firm, for the Province of BC as a Tax Auditor and then working for one of the largest tire companies in Canada as their Senior Tax Accountant.  That position ended up following her to Belize as she continued to work remotely for the company for another 1 1/2 years before joining Muy'Ono. 



Legal Counsel

Estevan is Muy'Ono Hospitality’s legal counsel in Belize. He is a partner at Godfrey Law in Belize City and handles all the legal aspects of the firm’s work including contracts, acquisitions, employment, immigration, and regulatory affairs. His legal experience spans an array of corporate, civil, real estate, banking, finance, and intellectual property matters. As a key member of the Muy'Ono team he works with each portfolio property and business to ensure regulatory compliance and serve the management of each operation.

Mr. Perera holds a Legal Education Certificate (LEC) from the Hugh Wooding Law School and a LL.B. from the University of the West Indies. He has been appointed as a Director of both the Social Security Board of Belize and Belize Water Services Limited. He works closely with all government ministries and assists in securing permits where necessary.

Estevan enjoys the variety and pace of his work with Muy'Ono and is integral to the success of the business in Belize.
